Clinical Hypnotherapist
Psychotherapist

Alexandra Kamaropoulos

Hi, I’m Alexandra.

I’m the founder of Meliora, proudly based in the Dandenong Ranges.

I completed my Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy in March 2021 at Stirling Institute’s Academy of Hypnotic Science, and I am a registered member of the Australian Hypnotherapists Association, the largest independent hypnotherapy association in Australia.

My approach is grounded in both professional training and personal experience, including navigating chronic illness and the internal patterns of people-pleasing, fear, and disempowerment that so many people quietly live with. Through this journey, I developed a deep understanding of how meaningful change becomes possible — not through force, but through conscious choice, inner alignment, and compassion for oneself.

Hypnotherapy, for me, felt like a doorway to infinite possibilities, and it is this experience I now share with my clients. If you’d like to read more about my personal journey, my story is shared below.

My Story

I know what it feels like to be trapped inside your own body and mind - to wake each day uncertain whether you can endure another, and to grieve a version of yourself you may never fully get back.

From around age thirteen, my body began signalling that something was wrong: unusual growth, hormonal irregularities, and sharp, unexplained head pains.

I didn’t know what it was, or how profoundly it would shape my life, until I was sixteen and diagnosed with a rare and severe hormonal condition - pituitary acromegaly.

The tumour was too entangled within my brain structures to remove, and large enough to startle even the specialists.

By eighteen, I began intensive radiotherapy. Those years reshaped everything I thought I knew about myself, my body, and my future.

The treatments were relentless, the outcomes uncertain, and for long stretches, I didn’t know if I would survive.

While I had physical care and support, the mental and emotional work - gradually digging myself out of the deep hole I found myself in - was entirely my own.

Each day required courage I didn’t feel, patience I had to invent, and faith that change was possible, even when nothing in my experience suggested it would be.

The aftermath brought its own challenges: medical-related PTSD, the lingering effects of trauma, and relational patterns shaped by toxic or codependent dynamics and complex family relationships.

These experiences taught me, in a visceral way, how trauma and attachment shape beliefs, behaviour, and emotional resilience - insights that now inform every aspect of my therapeutic work.

Throughout my journey, the most transformative shifts came not from force, but from internal revelations: learning how to navigate my mind and emotions, cultivating new perspectives, and integrating intentional lifestyle and holistic health practices.

I came to understand that meaningful change arises when we align with the deeper workings of the mind and body, rather than trying to override them.

As a hypnotherapist, I bring this lived depth and understanding into my practice. I hold a space that honours the nervous system, fosters alignment, and supports profound, lasting transformation - even when life feels overwhelming.

I approach healing with the belief that change becomes possible when we work with the mind, not against it.

Today, I remain committed to restoring lost capacities, expanding my understanding of human potential, and guiding my clients to do the same.

Life is persistent and beautiful. It is here, it is now, and it is ours. There is always hope - and sometimes even the smallest step in the right direction is an enormous success.

I got my new beginning, now I’m here to help you find yours.
